Class Description

"Interested in cooking, baking, or just want to add a stress-free class to your schedule? The Life Skills: Intro to Baking will be perfect for you! Besides being among the most iconic decals UC Berkeley has to offer, this course will allow you to build your baking skills and master fundamental techniques. No experience is necessary, and anyone with an interest in baking is warmly encouraged to apply! During class time, you will learn the science behind baking, reflect on your at-home baking projects, and participate in discussions/tastings. Outside of class, you will put your skills to the test and prepare a dish to practice the week’s lecture topic. Over the course of the semester, you can expect to cover the following topics: Cookies, Brownies, Meringues, Cakes, Yeasted Breads, and more! Though this Decal is meant to be low-stress, students should be prepared to allocate 2-6 hours per week for at-home baking projects and assignments. Apply alone or with a friend using this link: https://forms.gle/BrtXcTtzWcwMv4NM9 The Intro to Baking Spring 2024 Facilitator Team looks forward to reviewing your application!
