Class Description
This course aims to give students the basic tools to start thinking critically about public health today. We hold weekly classes expanding on such topics, with some weeks being discussion-based lectures, and others being activities. We start with describing some of the basic concepts in public health, and in later classes, we focus more on developing the students’ critical thoughts on public health today with more focus on what’s going on around the world.
Succeeding in this class is quite simple, which we intentionally designed so as to focus the class on engaging with the content rather than stressing over it. Do so, showing up to every class to participate and completing the assigned small reflection assignments are the main components. Coursework is light, and there is a small final presentation at the end that ties together all of the themes in the class. Overall, it is a small, but fun course to get bearings in the field of Public Health with. There is no application to enroll and we welcome everyone!
