Course Catalog Description
Readings in Indonesian texts, including newspapers, journals, and literature exploring a variety of styles. Systematic study of grammatical and lexical problems arising from these readings. Advanced exercises in composition, oral and written communicative skills, and cultural competence.
Class Description
This is the second semester of Indonesian intermediate level. The emphasis is on the further development of all the communicative skills such as intensive review of grammar, reading of contemporary prose, and expansion of vocabulary and reading comprehension. Students are also to give in-class formal speech presentations, and write summaries of short stories with more complex and advanced grammatical structures.
