Class Description
This course is designed to help acclimate Cal Veterans (generally transfer, re-entry and student parents in upper division courses) to the rigorous expectations of student life at UC Berkeley. Working together as a community of scholars, class members develop, assess, and hone strategies to ensure academic success and a positive transition to studies at UC Berkeley. Students receive instruction and coaching in applying various theoretical and pedagogical models to their own course work, including learning from the strategies, research and studies at a research university, and learning strategies to maximize the Berkeley experience. The curriculum integrates a network of campus resources, guest presentations, student research and writing, and discussion sessions.
