Course Catalog Description
Discussion of Chaucer's major works.
Class Description
This class takes as its point of focus Chaucer's Troilus and Criseyde, around which we will encounter a variety of intertexts (Boccaccio's Filostrato and other versions of the Troy legend; Chaucer's translation of Boethius' Consolation of Philosophy), precursors (Anelida and Arcite), parallels (the Knight's Tale), and postscripts (the Legend of Good Women).
