Course Catalog Description
Students will develop the basic elements of communicative competence in both spoken and written language within a cultural context.
Class Description
This course is a continuation of Norwegian 1A (taught in the fall semester), and has the goal to further build Norwegian language competencies emphasizing practical communication in everyday contexts. Classes meet for three hours of Norwegian instruction per week. Students will continue to work on basic communicative competence in all four foreign language skills (speaking, listening, reading, and writing) within a cultural context. The aim is to enable students to express themselves in Norwegian regarding topics such as weather, holidays, family, relationships, housing, and employment. We will also explore Norwegian society and popular culture through videos and films, short articles, and other Norwegian media.
