Catalog Course Description

An introduction to probability, emphasizing concepts and applications. Conditional expectation, independence, laws of large numbers. Discrete and continuous random variables. Central limit theorem. Selected topics such as the Poisson process, Markov chains, characteristic functions.

Fall Term

3 hours of Instructor presentation of course materials per week and 4 hours of Outside Work Hours per week and 2 hours of The exchange of opinions or questions on course material per week.

Summer Term

5 hours of Instructor presentation of course materials per week and 9 hours of Outside Work Hours per week and 3 hours of The exchange of opinions or questions on course material per week.
