Course Catalog Description
Introduces students who are considering majoring in sociology to the basic topics, concepts, and principles of the study of society. This course is required for the major; 1 or any version of 3 is prerequisite for other sociology classes; students not considering a sociology major are directed to any version of 3 or 3AC.

Requisites
- Enrollment in this course is restricted to first semester students participating in the Fall Program for First Semester (FPF). Non-FPF students are not permitted to enroll in this course.
Credit Restrictions
Students will receive no credit for XSOCIOL 1 after completing SOCIOL 1. A deficient grade in XSOCIOL 1 may be removed by taking SOCIOL 1.
