Class Description

REGISTRATION IS NOW CLOSED! Coaching for Self-Actualization provides an individualized process where students are coached to build self-efficacy and personal agency and resilience. This course is grounded in a positive psychology approach, which is predicated on the belief that a person has the solutions to their most pressing challenges within themselves. Enrolled students will be paired with a Coach for eight 1:1 coaching sessions and will also participate in small-group discussions. Coach and students will develop an individualized coaching plan together to address the students personal goals, informed by a strengths identification tool that allows students to identify their areas of strengths and challenges. Coaches are former/retired UCB faculty, staff and alums or community members who have been trained to provide the positive psychology coaching process. They have a significant professional or personal background in mentoring or advising. Each week, students will have 2 hours of small group discussion OR 2 hours of coaching. Out of class work will be personal practices developed as part of the individualized coaching plan. No Exams. This course is open to students in all majors. Early Close DEADLINE 1/17
