Course Catalog Description

Study of production techniques and procedures related to production management, stage management, and theater administration.

Class Description

In this course, students will learn the basics of stage management - how to prepare for and manage a rehearsal process, foster an inclusive and collaborative creative environment, and successfully bring a show through tech and performances. Students will practice creating backstage paperwork for a specific play, explore communication strategies and tools, and learn how to respond to conflicts and prepare for emergencies. Students who are successful in this course may continue to hone their skills as a Stage Manager or Assistant Stage Manager on a TDPS production. Prerequisite: Theater 60.

Note Prerequisite: THEATER 60 or equivalent training or experience for transfer and exchange students.
