Course Catalog Description

Seminar for the advanced study of the subject matter of a previously given upper division course, emphasizing reading and discussion.

Class Description

Community partners who lead and mentor research collaborations are increasingly requesting the use of technologies and methods that have low impact and are minimally invasive on cultural resources and Ancestral Places. This seminar is focused on the methods, tools, and scenarios familiar to those archaeologists working closely with descendant communities on issues of restorative justice but will explore overlap with other disciplines and methods. Participants will be expected to learn and practice some of the core concepts, methods, and presentation of community-accountable scholarship and integrate them into co-crafted research products. Opportunities to develop these ideas and deliverables with and for community partners may be possible and could develop into work that lives beyond the semester and the academy.
