Class Description
Russian 103B is а course on advanced reading, grammar, and cultural competence aimed at students who have completed the lower-division Russian sequence (Russian 1-4). The course will be based on authentic Russian texts from a variety of genres and will emphasize vocabulary, idiomatic expression, and cultural awareness. It will also address the less familiar and more challenging areas of Russian grammar and syntax in conjunction with the reading material. We will also have a number of film screenings (to be followed by discussions in Russian). The course's goals are to expand students’ active vocabulary, strengthen their grasp of grammar, and further develop their reading and speaking fluency. Taught primarily in Russian. Grades based on daily attendance and participation, written assignments, quizzes, final project and final exam.
