Class Description
Psychological science is in the process of reckoning with the practices of our field that perpetuate bias and hegemony. Although this reckoning has started to become part of our field-wide discourse only recently, there already exists a rich literature on this topic that can help inform our thinking, our reforms for the field, as well as our day-to-day science. This course will explore essential readings in this area, scaffolded by a weekly discussion of themes and ideas. The course will center on psychological science with an emphasis on social-personality psychology, though we will also include readings from other disciplines (e.g., philosophy, anthropology, sociology).
