Course Catalog Description
Theoretical and empirical approaches to the explanation of psychological dysfunction. The relation between theories of psychopathology and theories of intervention. A critical evaluation of the effects of individual, family, and community approaches to therapeutic and preventive intervention. Thematic focus of the course may change from year to year. The class lecture will be remote and synchronous. The discussion sections will be in-person and synchronous except for one that will be remote and reserved for students unable to make it to campus for the fall semester due to health and/or visa issues.

Psych students will be prioritized. Enrollment in the remote discussion section requires department approval along with an inability to return to campus. Rules & Requirements
Credit Restrictions
Students will receive no credit for PSYCH 130 after completing PSYCH S130, PSYCH S130X, or PSYCH N130. A deficient grade in PSYCH 130 may be removed by taking PSYCH N130.
