Class Description
This course will offer a unique opportunity for undergraduate students to engage in an intergeneration dialogue with members of UC Berkeley’s Osher Lifelong Learning Institute. The focus of the intergenerational dialog will be mental health and emotional well-being. This has always been an exceptionally important issue for persons of all ages, and has become even more important during the uncertain times of the COVID-19 pandemic. Does the health care system in America deal adequately with mental health issues and emotional well-being? When do we reach out for help, and to whom can we turn for assistance? How do different societies and cultures deal with issues of mental health and emotional well-being? This intergenerational dialog is intended to address these and other related questions in a way that is engaging, innovative, transformative, and empowering.
