Probability and Risk Analysis for Engineers
Catalog Course Description
This is an introductory probability course for students in engineering. It focuses mostly on random variables and their applications. Applications will be given in such areas as reliability theory, risk theory, inventory theory, failure models, stress models, computer science, and others. Note: this course can not be used to fulfill any engineering unit or elective requirements; this is a statistics course and can only be used to fulfill a statistics requirement.
Summer Term
5 hours of Instructor presentation of course materials per week and 2.5 hours of The exchange of opinions or questions on course material per week and 15 hours of Outside Work Hours per week.
Fall Term
3 hours of Instructor presentation of course materials per week and 5 hours of Outside Work Hours per week and 1 hours of The exchange of opinions or questions on course material per week.
Spring Term
