General Chemistry
Catalog Course Description
Stoichiometry of chemical reactions, quantum mechanical description of atoms, the elements and periodic table, chemical bonding, real and ideal gases, thermochemistry, introduction to thermodynamics and equilibrium, acid-base and solubility equilibria, introduction to oxidation-reduction reactions, introduction to chemical kinetics. This course is web-based.
Fall Term
5 hours of Outside Work Hours per week and 3 hours of Web-based or technologically-mediated activities replacing standard lectures (effective Fall 2006) per week and 1 hours of Web-based or technologically-mediated activities replacing standard discussion sections (effective Fall 2006) per week.
Summer Term
