Class Description
Movement for Actors is an acting class open to students of all experience levels, including those with little or no formal movement training. The course emphasizes the exploration and cultivation of physical awareness, presence, and expressiveness as essential tools for performance. Through guided exercises, improvisation, and playful exploration, students will strengthen instinct, build confidence, and develop practical ways to use the body with intention and clarity onstage, while also learning how physical choices can support character development and transformation. The class prioritizes listening, imagination, and responsiveness, inviting students to work at their own pace with respect for personal boundaries and physical needs. Drawing from a range of movement and performance practices, the course highlights how movement work fosters a deeper awareness of self—supporting not only acting, but creative collaboration, embodied confidence, and expressive agency beyond the classroom.
