Course Overview
- This course aims to provide students with a basic understanding of word parts, medical terms, abbreviations, and how they are used in relation to human body systems, disease, and treatment. Each lecture will focus on terms corresponding to the 11 human organ systems, followed by a case report review each week to practice applying those terms to a real-life example. The course will especially be helpful to students interested in a career in healthcare or a related field, but is open to students from any major at any grade level. Whether you're preparing for advanced coursework or simply seeking health literacy, this course offers valuable tools for navigating your future endeavors with confidence.
Prerequisites
- There are no prerequisites, but a background in anatomical terminology and familiarity with Greek or Latin can be a plus.

- Also, this course does not fulfill the Medical Terminology requirement asked by many PA schools or nursing schools.
