This course is intended to introduce students to health policy making and health care organizations in the United States. Students will be introduced to concepts from public policy, economics, organizational behavior, and political science. Students will also be introduced to current issues in U.S. health policy and the present organization of the U.S. health care system.

Class Notes

PBHLTH 150D is a core requirement for Public Health majors. Since PBHLTH 150D is offered in-person during the summer, it is a highly impacted course during the Fall term. During Phase 1 and Phase 2, seats are reserved for Public Health majors and any remaining seats available will be released to non-Public Health majors in the adjustment period. There is no guarantee of enrollment for non-Public Health majors at this time. Please note that PBHLTH 150D is also offered during the Summer Session. show less
