Course Catalog Description
Advanced topics chosen by the instructor. The content of this course changes, as in the case of seminars.
Class Description
The course will provide a broad introduction to microlocal analysis starting with the theory of pseudodifferential operators. That will be used to prove propagation estimates and radial estimates. As an application we will prove the meromorphic continuation of the Ruelle zeta function and discuss some cases of Fried's conjecture (all the needed facts from dynamical systems will be presented). Fourier integral operators and Maslov indices will be presented next. We will conclude with some applications to mathematical general relativity.
