Course Catalog Description
Beginners' course. Not open to students who have completed more than two years of high school Spanish, or to native speakers.

Spanish 1 is for students with no previous Spanish language experience or up to 2 years of high school Spanish language instruction.
In Spanish 1 you will learn to use the present tense to:
- Introduce yourself and others.
- Exchange personal information.

- Introduce yourself and others.
- Exchange personal information.
- Ask and answer questions.
- Express likes interest and preferences (gustar, interesar, preferir).
- Talk about abilities and knowledge (saber vs. conocer).
- Describe and compare places. -Talk about daily routines.
In order to learn a language, you need a moderate challenge. If the class is too challenging, or not challenging at all, you won't learn effectively. This may negatively impact your academic success in the course.
