Course Catalog Description

This course covers the neural substrates of human behavior including: neuroanatomy, major methods in human brain research (EEG, MEG, PET, MRI, fMRI, TMS, Optical Imaging), neurological disorders resulting in neurobehavioral disorders (i.e. stroke, brain tumor, epilepsy, dementia) and classic neuropsychological syndromes (i.e. amnesia, aphasia, agnosia, executive control, emotional control).

Class Notes

50% of seats are released at the beginning of Phase I. All seats are reserved for Psych majors. There is no waitlist. Additional seats may be added to impacted classes (up to 15% more if needed).

** Psych 117: Some seats are currently available to declared Cognitive Science students only. Their department has funded some spaces for their declared students. These seats are available in Phase I only.

More seats will be released during Phase 2, and the Psych and Cognitive Science enrollment restriction will be removed. A small waitlist will be added. A small percent of seats to be released.

Class is synchronous. No time conflict enrollment allowed.

Students will receive no credit for Psychology 117 after taking Psychology N117. A deficient grade in Psychology N117 may be removed by taking Psychology 117.
