Class Description
The Restoration DECAL is a class that focuses on conservation and native plant restoration in the Berkeley hills and surrounding South Bay. This class is in collaboration with the already established group called “Take to the Hills” started in 2015 that works to take out invasive plants and replant the hills with native species. We will focus on restoration methods, ideology, history, and practice. A hands-on approach to local restoration empowers students to connect with their environment by learning and applying techniques to restore native species while responsibly managing invasive ones. This course fosters stewardship, practical skills, and ecological awareness, encouraging sustainable solutions for preserving biodiversity.
