Class Description
Supernatural at Cal is based on the hit show, Supernatural, which follows two brothers, Sam & Dean Winchester, as they battle and deal with supernatural forces. This class aims to explore how the show portrayed the concept of the "modern hero" by examining how it blends horror, comedy, and biblical themes to reflect the diversity and mythological depth of Ancient Greek epics. Students will pair weekly episodes with readings relevant to the assigned episodes, learning to closely analyze symbols and literary allusions in television.
