Class Description
Ever since African people arrived in the Americas, we have been asking that question. This course will examine this conundrum in terms of contemporary movements. We will study the literature of political activists, as well as other current and historical Black musings on freedom in non-fiction, fiction, and film. In addition to writing about the class materials, each student will develop their own theory of change and call to action.
