Course Catalog Description

The purpose of this class is to further develop the student’s proficiency in Italian language and culture. Exploration of fascinating aspects of Italian culture including elements of literature, contemporary and historical events, and pop-culture. The class will also follow students’ interests. To be taken instead of Italian 3 or Italian 4. Language lectures conducted in person in Italian, three times per week. Common lecture conducted online on Zoom in both English and Italian.

Class Description

Equivalent of Italian 3.
Conducted entirely in Italian.

Students will review and expand the grammar structures learned in the previous year. They will continue to build on the skills acquired in Italian 2, striving for a higher level of sophistication and fluency in writing, reading, listening and speaking. During the semester, students will be exposed to more examples of Italian culture through authentic materials such as short stories, poems, newspaper articles, films, and so on.
Conducted in Italian.

Course Requirements: Three hours per week. Weekly quizzes, midterm, oral exam, written compositions, final project, and a final exam. Regular attendance is required.
