Course Catalog Description

Directed group study on various topics in design innovation.

Class Description

Offered since 2009, our Human-Centered Design DeCal is an introductory class to design theory and practice, with a focus on human-centered design.

In this course facilitated by Berkeley Innovation, students learn about the human-centered design process, design theory, design tools like Figma, product strategy, and product management through hands-on in-class activities, homework assignments, and projects.

Throughout the semester, students will use industry standard tools to solve a problem they care about in their midterm and final project.

Classes are attendance mandatory and held on Mondays, 7-9pm, in Jacobs 310. Students will be graded on their homework submissions and midterm and final projects. Learn more about grading at https://hcd-decal.org/syllabus
