Course Catalog Description

The instrumentation lab (formerly Basic Semiconductor Circuits) is an introductory course in basic design, analysis and modeling of circuits, and data analysis and control. Topics include but not limited to: linear circuits, semiconductor diodes, JFETS, Op-Amps, Labview programming, ADC and DAC converters, signal processing, and feedback control.

Class Description

Physics 111A lab hours are M 12-4 p.m. and TWTHF 1-5 p.m. Physics 111A meets the first day of class at 1 p.m. in Physics Lecture Hall 3. You must attend the weekly lecture, and have at least two free afternoons each week to spend in lab. See lab staff for more information. If there are no open spots in this class, please contact Kathleen Cooney (kathleen.cooney@berkeley.edu) to get on the internal waitlist. She will place you on an internal waitlist and will enroll F24 grads one month after Phase I enrollment. If there are seats remaining for other physics majors, they will be notified by a week before the semester. Priority will be given to students who need this course to graduate on time in Spring 2024.
