Class Description
This course explores the lives and wellbeing of people around the world in the context of gendered international and domestic politics and economic processes. How do global, national, and domestic structures and institutions influence people's day-to-day lives and capabilities? How do they eliminate or reproduce gendered inequalities? We will examine the implications of power relations within the home, within nations, and between nations, for people in different parts of the world and at different points in history, and study some of the ways individuals and groups have tried to confront social inequities.
