Class Description
What is cult cinema? How is it defined? Characteristics of cult films range from being “so
bad they’re good” to having cult-like fanbases to being underground or obscure. Amongst
fans of cult cinema, it remains difficult to pinpoint an exact definition, as this film
classification spans genres and decades. In this Decal, we will study the history, social
and cultural influence, and various subcategories of cult cinema in order to broaden our
understanding and engage with discourse surrounding its many definitions.
