4 hours of outside work hours per week, and 2 hours of student practice of studio skills and/or tasks per week.

Students will learn the fundaments of healthy singing. The classical style will be learned and applied to other styles of singing. Students will receive group instruction and individual feedback throughout the semester. Singers will perform two solos: one in English and one in a foreign language. The course is open to all undergraduates. Students involved in campus vocal ensembles are encouraged to enroll. No prior music experience required.

Class Notes

Section 3 is ADVANCED. No prior formal experience is required to be admitted to Music 44:003. However, an audition is required, and the instructor will be listening for voices that demonstrate some level of maturity, developed informally or formally. Students in this section generally range from intermediate to advanced levels of vocal maturity and comfort singing.
