Class Description
When we think of the internet we often think of it lagging while we are trying to submit a midterm paper or magically disappearing while we are in the middle of compiling research articles for a literature review. What we think of less are the pieces of digital infrastructure responsible for providing us with the internet, and more importantly for this class, the large environmental costs of them. This class examines those critical pieces of digital infrastructure, their environmental costs, and new technologies and policies that could help make our internet more sustainable.
