Class Description
This course run by the Cal Hiking and Outdoor Society (CHAOS) is meant for first-time backpackers interested in learning the very basics of backpacking and trip planning. This includes topics such as nutrition, safety, gear, navigation, and permit acquisition. Special topics taught might include ultralight backpacking, winter camping, bikepacking, etc.
