Course Catalog Description
Special topics in Environmental Science, Policy, and Management. Topics may vary from semester to semester.
Class Description
Students will learn about tree mortality, wildfire, biome shifts, animal extinctions, sea level rise, ocean acidification, and other observed impacts and future risks of human-caused climate change in national parks and across global ecosystems, adaptation of natural resource management, and carbon solutions to reduce climate change and protect nature.
Class Notes
The course will feature lectures and class discussions, in person, with participation required, and a semester report and presentation for a specific national park or protected area. The work will include 2 hours of class and approximately 1 hour of reading per week.
