Course Catalog Description
In the context of inter-Scandinavian communication, students will further develop their communicative competence, their reading and writing proficiency and cultural understanding in their own target language (Danish, Finnish, Norwegian, or Swedish). Oral and written midterm and final exam.
Class Description
This course teaches intermediate Norwegian. Students will further their communicative competence in all four foreign language skills (speaking, listening, reading and writing) within a cultural context. We will also explore Norwegian society and popular culture by watching films and reading newspapers and magazines, to further students’ abilities to interact with cultural competence and understanding, and we will discuss how Norwegian language skills can be used beyond the classroom.
Please note you must enroll in both the Wednesday lecture and the target language section to fulfill course requirements.
