Class Description
This 6 week-long design course explores reimagining mobile sensing devices (wearables, smart phones, mobile robots, security devices, on-board automotive devices, etc.) through the lens of cybersecurity awareness. Over the course, students go through a human-centered design process (Research-Analyze-Ideate-Build-Communicate) to make mobile sensing cybersecurity tangible. Our course is partnered with theDesignExchange(tDX) research group and students in this course will get benefit of free registration and support from tDX researchers throughout the semester.

Course instruction will be delivered live through a video conferencing platform during the scheduled course times. Attendance will be required for several of the live class meetings; therefore, this course cannot be taken asynchronously.
This course is targeted at advanced undergraduate students (junior and senior standing), but the course is open to others as well. Students from diverse backgrounds, including non-engineering students, are encouraged to take this class.
ATTENDANCE & TIME CONFLICT POLICIES
The campus enrollment system allows students to have time conflicts in their schedule, to accommodate class shopping at the beginning of the semester and courses that have flexible attendance policies. However, this is only a temporary solution for the beginning of the semester; students must resolve any time conflicts to stay enrolled in your course. Institute policy is that students must attend DES INV class meetings, and instructors are in no way obligated to accommodate issues that arise from students’ decisions to enroll in classes with time conflicts. show less
