Course Catalog Description
This course will examine research investigating the neurological basis of cognition. Material covered will include the study of brain-injured patients, neurophysiological research in animals, and the study of normal cognitive processes in humans with non-invasive behavioral and physiological techniques such as functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging (fMRI), electroencephalography (EEG), and transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS). Topics to be covered include perception, attention, memory, language, motor control, executive control, and emotion.

This class will be both remote and completely asynchronous (both the Lecture and the Discussion Sections). Time Conflict enrollment IS allowed.

****Due to a system glitch in the enrollment software campus uses, cross-listed classes in the Psychology department will be handled differently moving forward. Instead of the regular Phase I class setup of open seats (reserved for Psych majors) and a waitlist (for all other students), ALL seats in Phase I will be on the waitlist.
At the end of Phase I, Psychology students will be prioritized and enrolled into the class.
As in other semesters, Psychology will make additional seats available in Phase II for all students. If you make it on the waitlist (Phase I or II), there is a very good chance you will get into the class barring conflicts, holds, and unit cap maximums. show less
