All Fall 2020 TDPS dance classes will meet remotely and synchronously for all scheduled class times. Some of the Zoom class meetings will involve break-out groups. Regular reading, writing, tutorials, video viewing assignments, practice-based assignments, etc. will be shared with students via bCourses. Final class showings will involve live Zoom performances, pre-recorded video presentations, and/or creative projects. It is expected that students wear appropriate dance attire in class (please reach out to the course instructor for details). Students should have an adequate space in which to dance and move free of furniture and objects. Classes will be held over Zoom and students are expected to use the video option. Please contact the instructor if you have extenuating circumstances that prevent use of the video option (or if you have other technical issues).
All interested students are encouraged to enroll and must attend the first day of class which is a required placement class. Students will be advised at the end of the class if they have been admitted. Priority is given to first and second year students and to majors and minors. If admitted and not already enrolled, it is the student's responsibility to add the course. Anyone not admitted must drop the course. No one will be admitted into this course without the placement class at the start of the semester.
No special preparation is required, however students should be in good physical condition and feel comfortable moving with full effort. Footless tights, leotards, or fitted gym clothes are suggested attire.
NOTE: Course may be repeated for credit under special circumstances: May be repeated if topic changes. And may not be taken more than 2 times with the same instructor. show less
