Course Catalog Description
The course will focus on reading and understanding mathematical proofs. It will emphasize precise thinking and the presentation of mathematical results, both orally and in written form. The course is intended for students who are considering majoring in mathematics but wish additional training.

Prerequisites for MATH 74: Completion of Math 10B *or* Completion of Math 1B and completion of or concurrently enrolled in Math 53 or 54, or 55.

* Lecture and discussions will be SYNCHRONOUS, with recording for lectures for playback later.
* Attendance will be taken by polls in lectures and discussions. Alternative lecture attendance checks will be provided only for students with severe time differences and to DSP students with lecture attendance accommodations.
* Video clips may be provided for pre-watching as a preparation for lectures and as a post-lecture reading material.
* One midterm will be held for 2 hours between 8:00 and 10:00 p.m. on Wed, October 14, 2020. Plan accordingly. Do not schedule any conflicts. show less
