Course Catalog Description

This class focuses on the significance of the physical environment in human life as citizens and as future design professionals and it introduces students to the field of human–environment studies. It shows how the social sciences and design can be mutually engaged, enriching the context for design evaluation and critique. Berkeley has long been known for attention to the social perspective on architecture, and this course falls in that tradition.
